I make my own roman shade out of plastic mini blinds…you can read about it here. But they drive my husband nuts! They just do not go up and down nicely and are constantly a mess. Steve complains and I re-assured him that I saved a ton of money. He “sort of” believed me.
That is until we hit Home Depot and I showed him the roman shade section. One shade—just under $400.00! NO JOKE! Steve still didn’t believe me, so we asked an associate and they confirmed the high price!
And Steve quit complaining. However, I wanted to make the shades more manageable. That’s where a hot glue gun and wooden dowels did the trick. I had Steve cut them to fit and glued them on…this was a one-person project and I was done in an hour.
EASY AND THEY WORK GREAT. BETTER YET—THEY COST WAY LESS THAN $400! No more complaining for Steve!
