HOP TO IT CHALLENGE: EASTER EGG APPLIQUE

Posted by Lori~

Ethne and I are participating in another link-up party!  A BIG thanks to Our Fifth House for the craft motivation…Ethne and I just LOVE these link-up parties.

In case you haven’t figured it out yet, I LOVE makingapplique shirts for Mur-Man and now I am making a set of matching Easter shirts for Ethne’s girls.

I actually purchased these matching polo shirts at a thrift store a while ago.  I believe they are meant to be school uniform shirts, but who cares.  In addition, they were still in the packaging, so brand-new for ¼ of the price.

I hit my fabric stash and found this awesome Easter fabric.  I simply ironed wonder-under (AKA fusible interfacing) to the back of my preferred area.  I then cut out the Easter egg pattern.

Next up, I peeled off the paper backing (leaving a film on the fabric).

I then ironed it to the shirts and sewed the applique in place.  ADORABLE and better yet, super thrifty.  I believe this entire project cost me less than $5.00 for 2 shirts!  The best part is that I had all but the shirts in my craft stash.

Ethne, do not fear…these will go in the mail very soon in time for Easter.
