Nail Down the Cheer!

Posted by Ethne~

Lori’s leaving for Disneyworld today, straight out of little city, ND.  I’m totally jealous.  Steve’s best friend, SS, and I talked about going down to Orlando to incognito stalk Lori, Steve and fam and then send them creepy pictures of themselves at the parks.  Brilliant.

Anyway, I just wanted to drop you guys a quick note.  I’ve got a few posts planned for you for the next couple days before and after Christmas, but I don’t have the pictures loaded up yet.

In the meantime, let’s talk festive Christmas nail polish.  What, you say?!?

Oh yeah, there’s nothing like having colorful nails to get me into the Christmas mood.  I usually wear French manicure (since I’ve been having my nails done professionally), but I L.O.V.E. color on my nails, so I had to do OPI’s “I’m Not Really A Waitress” Axxium gel yesterday.  The stuff will last 2 weeks (more except I don’t like the grow-out at my cuticles) easily and I couldn’t chip or break it if I try.

A few other favorite colors – I’m an OPI gal, but even Target options have super color selection lately, and let’s not forget my love of the Sally Hansen nail polish tapes you adhere straight to your nails.

Anyway, check these out for your Christmas festivities.  Every gift you wrap, every bite you take, every text you make (oops, I shouldn’t do that; my kids said I’ll be on Santa’s naughty list from texting too much), you’ll look down and love your fingers.

OPI’s best (they all are, but these are the ultimate) are “I’m Not Really A Waitress” (sparkly red), “Vodka and Caviar” (matte red), “Rajah Ruby” (dark, dark sparkly red) and “OPI Ink” (dark, dark sparkly purplish blue).  I’m pretty sure the “Ink” will be adorning my toes before Saturday, as long as I get all my final DIY gifting and wrapping done.  And cooking.  And food shopping.  And last minute stuff – well, maybe I’ll make Shaun get all the ingredients for the wassail.

If you don’t know what wassail is, it’s a DALISH holiday cocktail that can be alcoholic or non-alcoholic.  Mom Connie clued me into it and let’s just say it’s a tradition now.  We prefer the alcoholic version – rum.  Preferably spiced rum.

Have a great Christmas countdown friends!  May your nails be as merry and bright as you feel!
