I sit here this Sunday feeling a little sentimental. I am listening to the Glee Cast station on Sirius Radio playing through our Sonos (wireless Hi-Fi stereo system that is pure genius). Naturally there are a lot of romantic songs; and you know from here that I have a teenage crush on Finn Hudson.
Ah, Finn, a He's 28 in real life, so I'm not robbing the cradle |
Shaun, my hubby and real-life crush |
Edward is always included, see below Incidentally, R-Patz can sing, play piano and guitar - pitter patter, my heart |
I thought I’d share with you my favorite quote, out of much wonderful prose in the English language. This one starred on my wedding program. I had the pleasure of reading the great anthologies of literature in my college tenure as an English major at Olaf. That, in itself, makes me sentimental. Children’s books for Easy Mac and KD don’t quite compare. But I'm not a lit snob - remember from here how much I love a certain genre involving vampires? (Yes, I have read the original Bram Stoker story; and even took a class in college about monsters in literature.)
“I give you my hand!
I give you my love more precious than money,
I give you myself before preaching or law;
Will you give me yourself? will you come travel with me?
Shall we stick by each other as long as we live?"
- Walt Whitman
‘Song of the Open Road’ from
Leaves of Grass, 1881-82
