This is a recipe that I have not had FOREVER. It's one of those childhood recipes that I remember. I remember mom making it and grandma making it. Call it COMFORT FOOD!
And it is so simple.
Supplies needed:
1 package dried beef (2 ounces)
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
2 cups milk
1/8 teaspoon ground pepper
Steps to make chipped beef on toast:
Cut dried beef into strips.
Melt butter in pan on medium heat.
Mix in flour and pepper.
Add milk, mixing constantly.
Add beef and simmer for five minutes
Serve over toast.
Steve had never had chipped beef on toast (not even as a child)! I could not believe it! But, he said, "make it whenever you want!" HE LOVED IT!
