A LOOK AROUND MY FRONT YARD

Posted by Lori~

I had planned to post about curbside clean-up tonight and my awesome finds (on the side of the road).  You can read about my curbside finds here, here, and here.  Unfortunately, Shelley and I found NOTHING.  And, Steve was happy!

Instead, I thought I would show you a quick run-down of my front yard flowers, which are doing very good.  I think the rain is keeping them healthy.

I actually do very little planting and most of my flowers come back each and every year.  However, I fill my window boxes, pots, and rain barrel flower pots with plants.  This year I went with mostly wave petunias and spikes throughout (there are a few others thrown in there as well).

I actually took a tip from Young House Love and used hanging plants for my window boxes, because it created a more mature window box.  It basically skipped a lot of waiting and was worth the minimal added cost.

JORDAN'S GRADUATION RE-CAP

Posted by Lori~

My nephew Jordan graduated memorial day weekend.  You read about how to make grad hat cupcake tops here. What an awesome weekend filled with fun, excitement, family, friends, and of course 100% proud of Jordan!

Jordan is headed to college in the fall.  Wow--this entire experience makes me feel old!  But I love him, and will LOVE having him closer to me!

I took a few photos from the weekend (I apologize for the photo quality!  Steve was in China with the "rebel").

Jordan getting ready to march!

My mom (Crafty G-Ma) made a t-shirt quilt and it was the perfect backdrop for the party!

We had a root beer keg.  And, Jordan's friends thought it would be fun to do a root beer keg keg-stand.

I made tissue poms for the party.  Instructions are here.

The cupcakes were delicious!

Jordan and the family with his graduation gift of an acoustic guitar.

And finally, I had to take a photo of the WHS fight song.  Ethne, this one's for you!

TOGETHER AGAIN ~ Girls Weekend in Fargo!!

Posted by Lori~

Get in!  Get Sexy!  Get it DONE!  That was our "theme" for the weekend.  And boy did we, GET IT DONE!

First up, thank you Steve for planning this girl's weekend for me.  You see, Steve was away in China (and just arrived back today), and for my birthday present he gathered my BFFs for a weekend in Fargo.  And, it was jam-packed.  And the best part was that Ethne drove in from Big City, MN!  We had a BLAST and drank several dirty, dirty, dirty (lots of olive juice) martinis.

Our first stop was the Eco Chic Junk Fest--filled with crafts and re-purposed furniture.

Check-out this adorable magnetic board made with a stove burner cover.  Ethne and I think we will make one!

Laura, Ethne, and Karla at Eco-Chic!

LOVE THIS PHOTO!  And notice behind us that you can "shop in the horse trailer"

We had our nails done here...the outside (including the car) were a little sketchy!

But the mani's and pedi's were AWESOME!

We had dinner at the Ho Do and the food was delicious!  Check it out:

And, check out those martinis!
Girl's weekends are the BEST!  LOVE THEM!  Soon enough, Ethne and I will be "together again" for yet ANOTHER GIRL'S WEEKEND!  Can't wait!
