I spoke to other moms, I researched, and I found the perfect spot. I LOVED THE PHOTOS—DON’T GET ME WRONG THEY WERE FAB-U-LOUS! But photo session cost later, photo order later, and I had thrown down roughly $500.00! YIKES!
That’s when I devised a plan. Mission: MY HUSBAND WOULD TAKE OUR PHOTOS AND WE WOULD SAVE MONEY!
My husband worked in higher education as well and also works in journalism. He is talented and really can take a good photo. I am sure that we all have these people in our lives or know a friend of a friend that you could hire.

SO SERIOUS--MY FAVORITE! |
So I planned, I recruited my good friend Reagen to assist, and I determined the wardrobe, and we LUCKED OUT! The photo session was literally scheduled for the LAST nice weekend in North Dakota before the snow flew! And the photos turned out FAB-U-LOUS! Guess what—the photo session cost me nothing!!!!
LOOK AT ME SMILE! |
Guess what else—I ordered prints from Walmart and spend just under $35.00 for all the needed 5X 7 photos and wallets. Guess what else—I ordered canvases from an online company that had a great sale—FREE 8 x 10 CANVAS ALL YOU PAY FOR IS SHIPPING! TOTAL COST—UNDER $35.00 FOR TWO CANVAS PHOTOS!
THRIFTY PHOTO SHOOT FINAL COST: UNDER $80.00
PROFESSIONAL PHOTO SHOOT WITH PHOTO ORDER: ROUGHLY $500.00! (keep in mind--not all professionals charge this much!)
THRIFTY TIP: Consider taking your own photos! You WILL SAVE A LOT!
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
