Ethne and I
are still dreaming of the day when we can live in a compound and craft
FULL-TIME. Doesn’t that sound marvelous! Who knows, maybe…just maybe…that will
happen. You never know!
As many of
you know, I work in student affairs at a college in my little city, ND
town. I have been in charge of residence
life and new student orientation for over four years. Before that, I was in charge of student
activities. And, before that I was an
admissions counselor. I L.O.V.E. working
at a college—you stay young, you feel young!
It’s GREAT! And, I feel like I am
making a difference.
But
recently I have decided I needed to make a shift in my life. I have had this aching feeling to be home
more with Mur-Man. I have also had this
feeling that I NEEDED to go to law school.
Honestly, it’s probably my obsession with HLNTV. You’ve read all about our crime editions. Ethne and I talk non-stop about current
cases.
And so, I
took the plunge. I am now moving into a
20 hour/week job at the college. I will
be the Director of Retention beginning in January. My job will be to work on helping students
adjust to college life and helping them to be successful.
Two days a
week I will be home with Mur-man and hitting the LSAT study-guide. Who knows?
Maybe I will go to law school and maybe I won’t.
I will also
continue to teach public speaking at the college, and I have started to teach
online classes as well. Life is good,
but a little scary too with all of these changes.
