SPRING INTO STEAM!

Posted by Lori~

You probably are seeing a pattern…I have spring on my mind!  The weather is GORGEOUS!  I am lovin’ it!

And with spring comes spring cleaning (at least I grew up with spring cleaning).  As you know, Steve and I have hard wood floors and we LOVE our steam mop.  Ethne swears by the Haan Duo Steam Mop and I do like my Bissel Steam Mop.

The problem is that the mop came with two steam mop pads (and of course, I have misplaced one).  And that leaves me with one.  And, you guessed it, I HATE laundry, so it really doesn’t work very well.

NASTY!
I had a plan to make my own mop pad…I hit my stash and found fleece.  PERFECT!  And, I am saving money!

I simply traced the original disgusting pad and created a pattern.

I then cut the fabric out as well as a 2½ inch strip.  From there, I sewed the strip to the pattern base.

I then folded down the strip and sewed to create a pocket for my elastic. I then threaded it through.

And, it works perfect.  Total cost under $3.00!  And I plan to make more!

The pad in ACTION!

RANDOM KNOWLEDGE = COFFEE DISCOUNTS!

Posted by Ethne~

Well, we WOMS are always looking for a bargain – and any amount off your purchase is great.

Are you familiar with the Caribou Coffee daily quiz question?  You get 10¢ off your coffee purchase if you get the question correct.  I have never been able to answer one of the questions correct, but I don’t drink too much coffee, either.

Drinking coffee with Lor last time she came
to town - at Caribou of course!

My sister, Whit, drinks plenty off coffee and, a few days ago in her local suburban Atlanta Caribou Coffee shop, she saw their daily question:

‘What is the geographical center of North America?’

She instantly blurted out: “That’s Rugby, North Dakota.”

The Caribou barista looked at her as though she had a third eye, Whit reported to me.  “You know the answer to that?” he said.  “You get the answer correct if you say ‘North Dakota’.”  Hilarious!

Naturally, all of us North Dakotans can get that answer right!  KD, Easy Mac and Mur-Man will definitely know this important trivia.  And we will keep learning other random trivia facts to get more change off of our coffee orders.  Every penny counts!

Remember from here where I made
re-useable coffee sleeves from my stash?

But for being in Atlanta and knowing the answer in such exact detail, don’t you think Whit should’ve gotten her entire coffee order for FREE?

(Y’all will be excited to hear that Whit and Bryan will be moving home to MN FOR GOOD in a month!  This is such HAPPY SPRING news!)

BOUNCE INTO SPRING!

Posted by Lori~

First up, a quick update on Mur-Man
—we are very happy to report that Mur-Man was released from the hospital on Friday and doing much better!  Thank you for all the well wishes!  And for the wonderful visits!  Super M visited Mur-Man and they even got to go for a wagon ride!

But that wasn’t it.  On Saturday we kicked off spring with a “just bounce” party!  Steve and I, along with friends, have started an inflatable games business—you can check out our website here.

And BOUNCE we did! Here are some photo highlights!  The best part is that the temperatures hit 75 degrees!  It was gorgeous out!  It sure doesn’t feel like late March in North Dakota.
